FUTURE GOALS

Other than helping others and being extraordinary?
My biggest goal for leadership in the future is in supporting and furthering women in the workplace. I strongly believe that diversity improves any workplace, not just financially but also socially and culturally. And the most accessible step for me, in part because of my personal identity, is to start with women. I can do this as a female professional in any setting, whether it is in finance, higher education, or something else. I envision this happening in the several ways.

  1. I work hard, I prove myself, and bring others up with me.

  2. I speak up about injustices.

  3. I continue to educate myself and others on the biases and inequities that still exist.

Unique Leadership Identities
Future Goals

These core values are important to me because they shape my decisions, my goals, and my actions. I pursue the opportunities that I do, or in the way that I do, because I believe so strongly in these pillars.

Some of these have come from how I was raised. My parents are both very zealous, driven individuals. Their ambition and their example of being consistent, committed, and reliable in any of their endeavours have instilled these values in me and have shaped the picture of who I want to become.

Fairness and composure have been learned values. These are values that I did not realize I held until my beliefs were put to the test. Fairness and equity are values I discovered when I started teaching. This is because I have long believed in the categorical imperative and utilitarian ethics. Composure and confidence have developed as values in my personal development. I am striving to be a person that is professional, competent, and efficient. In addition to this, my value of composure has stemmed from my emotional nature, and the stigma that exists around emotional people in the workplace.

Love is part of my personality. To me, it is innate. I strongly believe that everything is rooted in love. I study finance because I love to learn and I love being analytical. I sing because I love music. I am a tour guide because I love my school. Whether it manifests as empathy, family, friendship, respect, or passion, love is vital to having a full life.
